The Baldosa Cotto is a handmade tile measuring 11 x 11 cm and 1 cm thick, produced in one of our Spanish factories. It is a ceramic Spanish tile with a vivid appearance that can be used as floor and wall tiles both indoors and outdoors. The colors are based on nature, and combine perfectly with our other collection. The tiles in the box are mixed in color and appearance, creating a lively and playful whole.
Good to know
The surface of these tiles is manufactured using one of the latest techniques. In this process, small reliefs can often be felt on the surface, which gives a vivid and natural appearance. The top layer is quite matte and therefore not slippery. The quality is excellent and has a high wear resistance.
This collection of tiles are available in both high gloss and matte finishes. Moreover, this finish is not exactly the same in any tile, which creates a playful effect. Their square size reminds you of the old Farmhouse tiles. However, the tiles are ceramic and thus much less fragile than the old terracotta tiles of the old days.
Installing Spanish tiles
Spanish tiles are easy to install and have their own instruction manual. Upon purchase, you will receive a step-by-step plan with instructions and points of attention. We recommend that you read this manual carefully before installing the tiles. Or hire a good tiler who is familiar with this type of tile.
These modern tiles can be used as floor and wall tiles both indoors and outdoors. The following applies for outdoors:place on a paved surface like concrete, under a canopy, protected from water and sun. A significant frost can cause the glaze to crack.
Piedra tiles are ideal tiles for wet areas such as a shower, toilet or bathroom, but also in a kitchen or hallway they fit beautifully. Nevertheless these tiles are also excellent to be placed in a hospitality venue or store and are the perfect addition to the preferred look and feel.
Colors, patterns and sizes
Spanish tiles come in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes. Each batch has a small color difference. The tiles from 1 box also often have color differences and irregularities. This is sometimes done on purpose to create a certain atmosphere or has to do with the production process and should be considered normal.
In addition to the standard rectangular and square shapes, other shapes are also very popular such as hexagons, triangles, fish scales (Escamas) and laternas.

Spanish tiles have a hard top layer and are easy to maintain. Mop weekly with an all purpose cleaner. Preferably an acid-free product that is not too greasy. In case of heavy pollution, we recommend using Azule Dirt Remover. This degreaser deals with most dirt on various types of tiles.
