Azulejos Caqui
The Azulejos Caqui is a handmade wall tile measuring 10 x 10 cm and 0.8 cm thick, produced in one of our authentic Spanish factories. It is a solid color tile with a vivid surface and beautiful colour shades. Azulejos are intended as wall tiles and are ideally suited to areas such as a kitchen, bathroom, toilet or hallway. Also in a business environment like hospitality venues or stores, this type of tile fits perfectly.
Good to know
Azulejos (pronounced 'azulegos') are handmade wall tiles from Spain. They are manually coated with pigments using a brush or roller and then baked in a large tile oven. This labour-intensive work gives the tile its own character. We sell Azulejos in various sizes, colours and shapes.
Azulejos are typical Spanish tiles that are very recognisable because of their cheerful, bright colours. The square format ensures that they can be used in every bathroom or kitchen. These tiles can only be used as wall tiles. Are you looking for a floor tile? Take a look at our Spanish Floor Tiles.
Installing Spanish tiles
Spanish tiles are easy to install and have their own instruction manual. Upon purchase, you will receive a step-by-step plan with instructions and points of attention. We recommend that you read this manual carefully before installing the tiles. Or hire a good tiler who is familiar with this type of tiles.
Some tiles may contain small cracks in the surface of the glaze. This is often part of the tile type. If Spanish tiles with small cracks are placed in a wet area such as a shower, the tiles should be treated with an impregnating product like Tile Sealant to prevent moisture absorption in the cracks. This only applies to crackled finished tiles!
Suitable for
These authentic tiles can be used as wall tiles both indoors and outdoors. The following applies for outdoors: place on a paved surface like concrete, under a canopy, protected from water and sun. A significant frost can cause the glaze to crack.
Azulejos are ideal tiles for wet areas such as a shower, toilet or bathroom, but also in a kitchen or hallway they fit beautifully. Nevertheless these tiles are also excellent to be placed in a hospitality venue or store and are the perfect addition to the preferred look and feel.
Colors, patterns and sizes
Spanish tiles come in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes. Each batch has a small color difference. The tiles from 1 box also often have color differences and irregularities. This is sometimes done on purpose to create a certain atmosphere or has to do with the production process and should be considered normal.
In addition to the standard rectangular and square shapes, other shapes are also very popular such as hexagons, triangles, fish scales (Escamas) and laternas.

Maintenance
Spanish tiles have a glazed top layer and are easy to maintain. Mop weekly with an all purpose cleaner. Preferably an acid-free product that is not too greasy. In case of heavy pollution, we recommend using Azule Dirt Remover. This degreaser deals with most dirt on various types of tiles.
