The Platta Soleil is a combination of different tiles that together form a whole. You buy this handmade wall and floor tile per box, and it is a mix of different shapes. The tile can be ordered in all Moroccan colours. You can choose 2 colours or 1 colour. This tile has a very lively surface and beautiful colour nuances. Platta tiles can be used on both floors and walls and are ideally suited to kitchens, toilets, halls or bathrooms.
Good to know
Plattas are handmade tiles from Morocco. They are formed from clay in a special way, dried in the sun and baked in an authentic olive stove. This labour-intensive work gives the tile its own character. There are lime pips in this clay, which can regularly be found on the surface of the tile or in the glaze. This is characteristic of handmade Moroccan tiles and should be considered normal. Plattas can be used as both floor and wall tiles. If you would rather have a thinner tile on your wall, check out our Zelliges.
Placing Plattas
Moroccan tiles need extra attention when they are being placed and have their own instruction manual for this. At purchase, you will receive a step-by-step plan with instructions and points of attention. We advise you to read this manual carefully before you install the tiles. Or hire a good tiler who is familiar with this type of tiles.
Suitable for
Plattas can be used both indoors and outdoors. For outdoors: under a roof, protected from water and sun. A hefty frost can cause the glaze to crack.
They are suitable as wall tiles and as floor tiles. The surface is irregular, so this can cause edges. They are ideal tiles for your hall, toilet, bathroom and kitchen. Plattas can also be used in catering establishments.
Colours and sizes
Plattas come in many different colours. Each batch has a small colour difference. Also, the tiles from one box may have colour differences and irregularities, this is due to the production process and should be considered normal. Platta tiles are cut by hand into different sizes and shapes. In our country we see mostly square and rectangular shapes, but also for example the Art Deco or Hexagonal format.
Ordering, delivery and shipment
These tiles are delivered per box. For help in calculating the required quantities, expert advice or a customised quote, we are happy to help you in one of our showrooms.
Orders can be delivered to your home via our carrier. They are placed firmly on a pallet and the risk of breakage is minimised. The costs for this are calculated based on the weight and volume and are included in the quote, if applicable.
There is also the possibility to collect the tiles from our warehouse in Breda or from our showroom in Utrecht. Collecting is only possible by appointment and when the tiles are in stock. If you would like to see the tile in real life and you are not able to visit one of our showrooms, you can order a sample via our website.
Maintenance
Plattas have a hard top layer and are easy to maintain. Weekly mopping or cleaning with an all-purpose cleaner is recommended. Preferably use an acid-free product that is not too greasy.
In case of heavy soiling, we recommend using Azule Dirt Remover. This powerful degreaser deals with most dirt on various types of tiles.
