Bejmat, the Moroccan brick for the floor

Have you fallen in love with those bricks in your Riad from Morocco? Then you are exactly at the Bejmat! This Bejmat is a thicker tile than the well-known Zellige wall tile and therefore perfect for the floor. The Bejmat has a fixed size of 4.5x14 cm and is 2 cm thick and is therefore extremely suitable for placing in herringbone. Although you can also place the Bejmat in many different creative patterns due to the ideal length. The Bejmat can be placed both indoors and outdoors and is suitable for any room. So are you looking for a smaller tile for your bathroom, kitchen, hall or terrace? Then the Bejmat is the perfect tile.

Handmade in an authentic way, the Bejmat

In Fez, Morocco they are known for their tile clay which has the perfect substance for the Bejmat tiles. After forming the tiles into the correct size, they are dried in the sun. They are then dipped by hand in the glaze and baked in an olive pit oven. The Bejmat has a slightly more robust finish than the Zellige wall tile, but does not have the chipped (sharp edges). However, it can be made in the same beautiful color shades as the Zelliges. This makes your color palette endless! It is a strong tile due to its thickness of 2 cm and can therefore be placed both indoors and outdoors. Want to see how the tile is made in the factory? View the making-off here.

Colors and layouts of the Bejmat

There are many types of Moroccan tiles, including the Zellige, Bejmat and Platta. The Bejmat is popular because of its brick shape. The size is perfect for placing in different laying patterns. Think of herringbone, half-bonded bricks, straight on top of each other or 3 to 3. Do you want to see what the possibilities are? View inspirational images of the Bejmat here. [link to inspiration photo of laying pattern] In addition, this Moroccan tile is also suitable for both wall and floor, so you can place it literally anywhere. Are you looking for a Mediterranean bathroom? Then place the Bejmat on the floor. Are you looking for a playful patio tile? Then place the Bejmat in your garden. Looking for a beautiful kitchen worktop? Use the Bejmat for this! You can also lay a beautiful herringbone in the hall with the Bejmat. Are you looking for floor tile with a different size or shape? Then look at the Moroccan Platta. It is as thick as the Bejmat but also available in other sizes and shapes.

Inspiration from the Bejmat

The Bejmat is a Moroccan tile and therefore the color consists of different shades. All this together provides the beautiful color nuances. Do you want to see this in real life? Then come to our showrooms in Breda or Utrecht and see the Bejmat in real life. You can also order samples via our website so that you can view the tiles at home. Always take more than 1 tile so that you can see the color difference between the tiles and not start from that one tile. Possible color differences are inherent in the production process, a single sample or showroom model is not representative of an entire batch. Do you already want to see the tile in a bathroom or kitchen? Check out our website under inspiration for the most beautiful images of the Bejmat. We often visit Morocco and have good relations with our factories. This way we can guarantee the best quality and we are sure that we supply high-quality and durable tiles that can last a lifetime!
