Patterns
Cement tile; the pattern tile par excellence!
The cement tile is, besides its durability, known for its patterns. Some patterns are very old and well known, you often come across them in old houses, castles or factories. These classic patterns are constantly being re-invented and reproduced. These tiles are authentic and are perfect in an old house that needs to be renovated.Don't have an old house but are you looking for a familiar pattern? How about the Escher pattern? Known for its graphic shapes that can draw you into a game of perspective. We also have a collection of this in different colors and patterns. It is very special to place these in a large space and see the perspective change.

Old and new patterns, it's all possible!
In addition to old patterns, we are also constantly looking for new patterns. These can already exist or we make them ourselves. My colleague Mart is busy developing new patterns in different color schemes every day. This can be based on an authentic pattern or a graphic pattern. Because one tile does not always consist of one pattern, it can also happen that 4 tiles make 1 pattern, you do not always have to work completely symmetrically. This can provide a very playful effect, but you have to find the balance between busy and playful, which is not always easy. This has not yet been done much with cement tiles and that is why Designtegels experiments a lot with this.
Handmade with love
Did you know that every pattern is handmade in the factory in Vietnam? Each new pattern is measured out in a 20x20 frame. Then the lead is heated and bent by hand until the right pattern is created. Then they can pour colors into each frame and cast, make and press tile by tile.
Wallpaper or tiles?
That patterns or prints are in is something you will quickly see when you look around you. At well-known interior design stores you will see more and more patterns, both authentic, Escher or new graphic patterns. Think for example of your tea towels, duvet cover, curtains, tableware or wallpaper. On sites such as: nubehangen graphic prints dominate.Nowadays it is hip to experiment a bit more, not only with the pattern but also with the tile. The hexagon is a good example of this, they appear all over the world and designtegels.nl also has a special collection of them. These hexagon tiles go especially well with graphic patterns, which ensures a double graphic effect! Here color can also make a big difference, a certain tile can work with only 2 colors while another has 8.
