A week in Saint Martin with our tiles.
Because my father lived there I also came there regularly on holiday and after a few holidays I stayed. Sint Maarten is an addictive island full of parties, culture and nature. Especially when you are young, paradise holds you captive. But after 5 years it was better to exchange the white sandy soil for the Dutch clay! And that was not a bad decision in itself. In the years after my departure I came back at least once a year, wonderful to be on my island and to visit old friends. Like last month when I decided together with my sister to take a mini break and go to Sint Maarten for a week.
When my buddy Kobbe, with whom I camped in my younger years on uninhabited islands around Sint Maarten, heard about my arrival, I was immediately offered a B&B in Philipsburg, the capital of the Dutch side. His parental home, with a truly fantastic view over the bay of Philipsburg, had been converted into 2 apartments that now continued as a Bed&Breakfast location. Moreover, the apartment where we stayed was completely tiled with tiles from Designtegels!
From this wonderfully relaxed place that is also perfectly centrally located we had a great week. What a wonderful island Sint Maarten is with something for everyone. It has recovered well after hurricane Irma and you can have the best time of your life if you love sun, sea and beach. I have agreed with Kobbe that I would at least give my loyal customers the opportunity to spend such a nice week in this beautifully located, very spacious 2 bedroom apartment.
