Bejmat, the Moroccan brick tile for flooring
Have you fallen in love with those brick tiles in your Moroccan riad? Then Bejmat is the right choice for you! Bejmat tiles are thicker than the well-known Zellige wall tiles, making them perfect for flooring. The Bejmat has a fixed size of 4.5x14 cm and is 2 cm thick, making it ideal for herringbone patterns. However, thanks to its ideal length, the Bejmat can also be laid in many different creative patterns. The Bejmat can be used both indoors and outdoors and is suitable for any space. So, are you looking for a smaller tile for your bathroom, kitchen, hall or terrace? Then the Bejmat is the perfect tile.
Handmade in the traditional way, the Bejmat
In Fez, Morocco, they are known for their tile clay, which has the perfect substance for Bejmat tiles. After the tiles are shaped to the correct size, they are dried in the sun. They are then dipped by hand in glaze and baked in an olive pit oven. The Bejmat has a slightly more robust finish than the Zellige wall tile but does not have the chipped (sharp edges). However, it can be made in the same beautiful colours as the Zelliges. This means your colour palette is endless! It is a strong tile due to its thickness of 2 cm and can therefore be used both indoors and outdoors. Would you like to see how the tile is made in the factory? Watch the making-of video here.

Inspiration from the Bejmat
The Bejmat is a Moroccan tile, which is why the colour consists of different shades. Together, these create beautiful colour nuances. Would you like to see it in real life? Then visit our showrooms in Breda or Utrecht and see the Bejmat for yourself. You can also order samples via our website so you can view the tiles at home. Always take more than one tile so you can see the colour difference between the tiles and not just judge from that one tile. Any colour differences are inherent to the production process, so a single sample or showroom model is not representative of an entire batch. Would you like to see the tile in a bathroom or kitchen?
