Sealing cement tiles and other natural stone products

Because cement tiles are made from marble powder, they require different care from ceramic tiles. The tiles need to be treated with sealing products during and after installation.

The right products should also be used for everyday maintenance to prevent or remove stains and dirt. For the best possible result, we recommend our own high-quality Azule maintenance, cleaning and sealing products. Regular use of our cleaning and maintenance products helps achieve the best results and safely extends the life of your tiles. Cleaning handmade tiles

We offer cleaning products for cement tiles, Zelliges, marble and other tiles. Our cleaning products are sustainable and have been specially developed and tested for handmade tiles. We have developed and refined some of these products ourselves, so you can rely on excellent quality.

Maintaining your tiles

Cement tiles and marble are natural stone products and should be maintained with an acid-free cleaner. We sell an acid-free floor soap that is particularly suitable for Portuguese tiles and provides excellent protection with regular use. Portuguese cement tiles should be mopped at least once every two weeks with floor soap, green soap or another mild soap without harsh or corrosive ingredients. We also offer sustainable tile soap for cleaning other types of tiles.

Prevent stains on your tiles

Acidic products are unsuitable for Portuguese tiles. Be careful with products such as chlorine bleach, vinegar, all-purpose cleaners and other strongly acidic cleaning products. Contact with cement tiles can damage the surface and leave unsightly stains. Take care with fruit juice, wine and fatty products such as oil, butter or mayonnaise too. Fatty products can leave grease stains that are difficult to remove. If the floor is properly sealed and maintained weekly with floor soap, a protective layer forms on the tiles, helping to protect them from external influences.
