Spring cleaning
Cement tiles are handmade tiles that are made from colour and cement powder. This makes them somewhat porous and you have to impregnate them as soon as they are laid. Despite the good impregnating agents from Azule that we have developed for this purpose, there is still a chance that acids, juices or strong dirt will penetrate the tile.
An example of this was a customer with an outdoor terrace decorated with the Rosso 01 tile. During the renovation of the house, the contractor had sawn the wooden floor on the terrace. Under all the waste and splinters, the (acidic) juices from the wood had been drawn into the ground, resulting in a dirty brown deposit on the otherwise colorful tiles.
We also gave this advice to the customer with an outdoor terrace. Together with the sanding, we recommend using our Superboen , so that you wet-sand the surface. The Superboen then simultaneously removes all the dirt from the tile. After a good scrubbing, it looks great again!

Pollution in cement tiles
If a cement tile gets dirty through daily use or if you spill something on it in the kitchen, the impregnation layer always ensures that this is prevented. You can of course simply clean the tile with green soap or Azule Dweilzeep , but if it is an acid, it will eat through the impregnation layer and sometimes even through the color layer. We always advise sanding the tile with a very light sandpaper, with this you sand off the top layer of the color and if the acid has not been biting in for too long, there is a good chance that you will not see anything of it afterwards.We also gave this advice to the customer with an outdoor terrace. Re-treat
After the dirt has been removed from the tile, the impregnation layer has unfortunately also been sanded away. It is therefore very important that you re-impregnate the tiles immediately. We have various products for this, depending on the space where the tiles are placed. (Read our treatment schedule for this) For this outdoor terrace we recommend Azule Vlekstop. You can apply this with the handy impregnation pad, specially developed for this purpose, which ensures that the impregnation agent is properly distributed.
As good as new
After impregnating twice (to be on the safe side), the floor is fresh and clean again, and you can enjoy this beautiful terrace again!
