Item Description

Escama Metalizado Bronze

The Escama Metalizado Bronze is a handmade wall tile of 11.5 x 6 cm and 1 cm thick from one of our factories in Spain. It is a Spanish ceramic tile with a rustic appearance and a smooth surface. It is available in several colors.

Please note: Metal glazes are very sensitive to temperature changes in the oven and can therefore change colour per batch. This is inherent to the production method of Metalizado tiles and should be considered normal.

Good to know
Our Spanish ceramic tiles are glazed by hand before being baked in a large tile oven. The production process still takes place in an authentic way. This is often reflected in the finish of the tiles. The top layer is very wear-resistant and can therefore be used for various purposes. These Spanish tiles are only suitable as wall tiles and are available in a high-gloss finish. These lively wall tiles have a fish scale format that makes for a real eye-catcher in your home. They give a unique look to your kitchen, bathroom or hall. Will you go for honey yellow, navy blue or metalizado?

Installing Spanish tiles
Spanish tiles are easy to work with and have their own instruction manual for installing them. When you purchase them, you will receive a step-by-step plan with instructions and points of attention. We recommend that you read this manual carefully before installing the tiles. Or hire a good tiler who is familiar with this type of tiles. Some tiles can show craquelé, small cracks in the surface of the glaze. This is often part of the type of tiles. If Spanish tiles with craquelé are installed in a wet area such as a shower, the tiles must be treated with an impregnating agent to prevent moisture from penetrating the cracks. This only applies to craquelé tiles!

Suitable for
These authentic tiles can be used as wall tiles and can be used both indoors and outdoors. For outdoors: on a paved surface such as a stone wall, under a canopy, protected from rainwater and sun. A heavy frost can cause cracks. They are ideal tiles for wet areas such as a shower, toilet or bathroom, but they also look great in a kitchen or hallway. These tiles also make a difference in terms of appearance in catering establishments and shops!

Colors, patterns and sizes
Spanish tiles are supplied in many colours, shapes and sizes. Each batch has a small colour difference. The tiles from 1 box often have colour differences and irregularities. This is sometimes done on purpose to create a certain atmosphere or has to do with the production process and should be considered normal. In addition to the standard rectangular and square shapes, other shapes are also very popular these days, such as hexagons (hexagones), triangles, fish scales (escamas) and laternas.

Ordering, delivery and shipping
These tiles are delivered per box. For help with calculating the required quantities, expert advice or a customized quote, we are happy to help you in one of our showrooms. Orders can be delivered to your home via our carrier. The costs for this are calculated based on the weight and volume and are included in the quote, if applicable. It is also possible to collect the tiles from our warehouse in Breda or from our showroom in Utrecht. Collection is only possible by appointment and if the tiles are in stock.
If you would like to see the tile in real life and are unable to view it in one of our showrooms, order a sample via our website.

Maintenance
Spanish tiles are baked tiles, have a hard top layer and are easy to maintain. Preferably use a non-corrosive all-purpose cleaner so that the colour layer is not affected.
